Race timing FAQ

How does chip timing work?

Each athlete wears an RFID chip, attached to the bib or the ankle. When they cross a timing line the system records the passage time and links it to the bib number, with no manual input.

Which races do you provide timing for?

We time running, trail running, road cycling, mountain bike, triathlon, swimming and many other disciplines, from local events to races with thousands of participants.

Can I get split times along the course?

Yes. Intermediate timing points can be added to get splits and partial times, also shown in the online rankings.

Where are the results published?

Rankings are published on IDchronos Live and updated in real time during the race. Every athlete can search their name and see time, position and category.

How much does race timing cost?

The cost depends on the discipline, number of participants, timing points and services required. Fill in the quote form at the top of the page and we will propose a tailored solution.

Can I use IDchronos Live for registrations only?

Yes. The online registration platform can be used on its own; if you also choose our timing, registrations and rankings are already connected.
